Inspired by a true story. At an isolated spot of land, 50 miles away from San Francisco is the most haunted house in the world. Built by Sarah Winchester (played by Oscar winner Helen Mirren), heir to the Winchester fortunes, the house does not know its end. Constructed for decades incessantly, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, it is seven stories high and houses hundreds of rooms. To a stranger, it looks like a monstrous monument reflecting the madness of a disturbed woman. But Sarah is not building for herself, but for her niece (Sarah Snook) or the brilliant Dr. Eric Price (Jason Clarke), whom she summoned to the house. She’s building a prison, an asylum for hundreds of vengeful ghosts, and the most terrifying of them have the intuition to settle down with the Winchesters.
